  Without hesitation, we would highly recommend Coleman Creek Construction. We purchased a 100 year old fixer upper near downtown Ashland, OR. We lived out of state at the time and searched online for local contractors. Eventually, we narrowed it down to four contractors, and called them all. Three of them were booked with projects but they all recommended Michael Hodgin’s Coleman Creek Construction! How's that for a referral! Luckily, Michael had recently had a cancellation and could fit us in. I met with Michael on site and discussed the scope of the project. I knew right away that he was the man for the job. He was a very attentive listener and definitely very experienced. His draftsman, Bill, came through the house, took measurements and drew up plans. His hardworking crew were respectful and skilled. They gutted the entire house and later rebuilt it. Since we were out of state, we held video conferences where we could all look at the 3D model of our house and the remodeling plans. After the general layout was finalized, Michael walked us through the tedious process of deciding on the countless finishes - from bathroom fixtures to swicthplates, windows to countertops. With our budget in mind, he was able to guide us to reliable local sources for appliances and other outside contractors. We are very, very pleased with how everything turned out and impressed with the quality of the work. If you are looking for an honest, intelligent and experienced contractor (who is also a great jazz guitarist, btw) look no further. Brian and Jennifer Rogers

  Disappointed. I was eager to use Coleman Creek for a project to update my home in Ashland. I called and was treated well on the phone. I scheduled an appointment. Shortly before the scheduled time I received a text that they would be late. Once they arrived we discussed the project and the owner asked what my budget was. when I told him I was hoping to keep it around $20k - $30k but had $50k for the whole project (new windows, paint, rock facade, roof, heat pump and landscape) At that point I felt a shift in his attitude and he said he would give me a ballpark figure within a week and if I thought I wanted to go further they would then give me a firm figure. He left and his representative stayed to discuss the ductless air system which I was told they would have the estimate the following day. After a week went by I called and left a message, No Response. A week after that I emailed and got an auto reply that I would be contacted soon, but nothing. I finally got another company to do the work and the house looks great. I do believe that they only want deep pockets and major remodel or new construction. It has now been two months and I never heard back from anyone. No communication from the owner, the representative or the office. Too bad, as I was excited to use them after all the great reviews I had read. I don't like leaving a negative review but felt that the lack of communication was the real problem. All they had to say is that they don;t do small jobs and refer me to someone who does, but instead they would not respond which left me hanging with expectations that went unfulfilled. I delayed the job over a month waiting for what never came.
